Who this guide is for
This guide is for rice importers, wholesale distributors, retail buyers and foodservice procurement teams exploring VinaGreen’s Vietnamese rice catalogue. It helps you prepare an enquiry; availability, shipment eligibility and commercial terms require confirmation for your order.
1. Match the variety to your customer
ST25 Rice
Long-grain fragrant rice. Soft, aromatic rice for everyday meals, specialty retail and restaurant menus.
Fragrant Rice 8
Long-grain fragrant rice. A gentle aroma and soft cooked texture for household, catering and restaurant use.
Japonica Rice
Round-grain rice. A soft, sticky cooked texture for sushi, rice balls and other Japanese-style dishes.
ST25 Shrimp Rice
Rice–shrimp cultivation model. Fragrant ST25 rice described in our company profile as grown in a seasonal rice–shrimp rotation in the Mekong Delta.
Use product samples and cooking trials to compare aroma, grain shape, stickiness and texture after cooling. Agree the sample reference and written specification before confirming a commercial shipment.
2. Define the quality specification
Tell us whether you need retail packs, foodservice bags or a bulk wholesale format. State the required moisture level, broken grain limit, foreign matter limit, crop or packing date, shelf life and traceability expectations. If your buyer has an existing technical specification, include it in the enquiry.
Residue and contaminant requirements depend on the destination and product. Ask which laboratory report is available, which lot it covers, the test date and the methods used. A general claim on a website cannot replace an agreed specification or a batch test.
3. Review the document package
- Product specification: agree the variety, quality parameters, packaging, storage and shelf life.
- Food safety documentation: request current certificates and check the factory or activity covered, issuing body and validity dates.
- Origin and plant health: confirm with your importer or customs broker whether a certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate or treatment record is required.
- Shipment documents: agree the invoice, packing list, transport documents and any destination-specific declarations in the contract.
- Labels and claims: review the destination language, pack declarations and any organic or other certification claim against supporting documents.
Document availability and requirements must be confirmed with the team and your importer. They are not identical for every country or shipment.
4. Agree the commercial and shipping terms
Include the order quantity in tonnes, preferred bag size, destination country and port, target delivery period and requested shipment terms. Ask the team to confirm the named port or place, responsibilities, lead time, payment terms and quotation validity in writing.
Minimum order quantities, current prices, freight and private label arrangements are enquiry-specific. Do not use a historical company news article as evidence of current stock, price, transport schedules or market access.
5. Send a complete enquiry
- Company name, website and buyer contact.
- Rice variety and intended retail or foodservice use.
- Order quantity, preferred bag size and label language.
- Destination port or place and target shipping period.
- Quality specification, required test reports and certification needs.
Common buyer questions
Is a rice–shrimp product automatically organic?
No. Rice–shrimp describes a cultivation model. Ask for a valid organic certificate covering the product and supply chain if your market requires an organic claim.
Does FDA registration mean FDA approval?
No. FDA explains that facility registration does not denote approval of a facility or its products. Ask the team about the documents relevant to your proposed shipment. See FDA’s explanation of approval and registration.
